What counts as a recognized chamber, DMO, workforce board, or economic development agency?

A chamber of commerce is a business membership organization serving a city, region, or industry. A destination marketing organization (DMO) promotes a place to visitors. A workforce board oversees job training and employment programs. An economic development agency attracts investment and supports business growth. Recognized means the organization is formally established, publicly operating, and verifiable. You do not need to belong to any specific association.

I am a government employee working in one of these areas. Is there anything special I should know?

Public-sector professionals working in chambers, tourism, workforce development, or economic development are welcome and follow the same application process. If your agency covers program expenses, employer sponsorship works the same way. Check with your agency about available professional development funding.
